3. Matters Arising
- Repairing the top path remains on the agenda. The lower path needed urgent repairs and has taken priority. The nettles have been cut back on the top path and the Group hope to make progress soon.
- The path by Allerton Grange Way also needs attention.
- There is a section of land in the woods which may not have an owner. The Group agreed at the last AGM to proceed with the process of becoming the registered owner. Paperwork has been submitted by David Lumb but no response received as yet.
4. Trustees Annual Report and Annual Statement of Accounts (1st January 2023 - December 31st 2023)
The Trustees Annual Report & Financial Statement can be downloaded below:
Copies of the Trustees Annual Report & Financial Statement for the year ending 31st December 2023 were circulated amongst the Group.
The Statement of Accounts has been independently audited at a cost of £300. Page 6 shows the receipts and payments for the year. No questions were raised.
The Reports will be sent to the Charities Commission.
Martin thanked David Miles for all his hard work on the large projects over the year.
Martin also thanked Steve for printing the FGVW and in turn, Steve thanked the volunteers for selling them.
Voting Results: Unanimous acceptance of the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts.
5. Future Projects
A discussion on members thoughts on areas for projects or developments for the enhancement of our work in the valley in the future.
The Group agreed to take a break from initiating large scale projects using contractors and concentrate on Group-led activities such as path repair work.
The priority is the top path that has been outstanding since the last AGM. Once the difficult areas have been completed by the contractors, the Group will complete the rest of the path.
6. Vote to Appoint Trustees of FGVW
The Group voted unanimously for Naomi Watts-Kitto to remain as a Trustee.
No new Trustees have come forward. It was confirmed that the Group can co-opt Trustees if required for specialised projects for a specific length of time.
Any member wishing to stand for election as a Trustee in the future should notify the Chair at least 14 days in advance of the next AGM. Nominations are welcome.
7. Any Other Business Permitted by the Constitution of the CIO
- The Group discussed the Green Fair event coming up on 14th July 2024 and the final preparations that are needed.
