1925: Constructing Gledhow Valley Road
16th October 1925. Five small wooden rods stick out of the earth where the road is being built, and two mounds of earth lie to the right. Makeshift tracks head off to the north in two directions. Raised woodland can be seen to the left, and dense woodland to the right.		16th October 1925. Early construction of Gledhow Valley Road. Two men with spades stand in a large area of rubble and earth. Five men stand in the centre of the picture with a railway track to the right. A trench has been made to the far right, and a fence blocks access to a field.
The Railway Foundry's first petrol locomotive, a 25 horse power 2ft gauge locomotive, shown working on the construction of Gledhow Valley Road.
