04 July 2018 The Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods' 18th Annual Family FunDay was very successful despite a last minute dip in the weather near the end of the afternoon. We had brilliant support from the local community and hundreds of local people came to join in the fun. As always, we would like to say a very big "thank you" to everyone who helped... those who spent hours assembling tents all morning; those who provided home-made food for the refreshments tent and prizes for the raffle and tombola; those who helped run the stalls and activities, and sold raffle tickets; those who helped pack everything away at the end of the day; and the many local businesses which generously donated raffle prizes. Without this help the event would not have been possible. Details of what happened at the FunDay, including photographs of the event in full swing are now available in the Events Gallery.
29 May 2018 The Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods invite you to their 19th Annual Family FunDay. The FunDay brings local people together for an afternoon of fun, activities and entertainment focussing on the local woodland and the plants and wildlife that live there. There are loads of displays, activities, games and entertainments to keep the whole family busy, not to mention home-made refreshments and live music! When & where:

Please can you help? We badly need volunteers who can help out on the FunDay either by bringing food for the Refreshments Stall, books or DVDs for the Book Stall, helping to put up the tents and marquees in the morning, or helping to look after the stalls or sell raffle tickets in the afternoon. We also need prizes for the tombola.
It doesn't matter if you can only spare an hour ...all help will be gratefully appreciated! Have a look in the Events Gallery to find out what happened at previous Family FunDays.
30 January 2018 FGVW is one of only 2 charities in Chapel Allerton to be selected to benefit from this year's Co-op Local Community Fund. Every time a Co-op member shops at the Co-op (and scans their Membership Card) the Co-op donates 1% of what they spend on selected own-brand products and services to the fund. They also donate money earned through the sale of 5p carrier bags. You can choose which cause you want your own 1% to go to. Any money raised by members who don't select a specific cause is added to the money raised from shopping bag sales and shared equally between the causes in their local area. The fund raising runs up until 27 October 2018. So please shop at the Co-op if you can, and always remember to show your Membership Card. Click here to choose FGVW as your cause.
